Very nice pictures. But in texas they don't let us have the real piranhas. We can only have the red bellies.

I'm pretty sure that red belly piranhas are real piranhas and are illegal in Texas.

two main species of pirnanha

pygocentrus- caribe, nattereri (reds) and piraya
serrasalmus- rhombeus (black p), elongatus, spilo, irritans...

out off all the piranha specis pygocentrus are the only "true" piranhas so technically there are only 3 true species of piranhas

and reds are a true piranha
and they are illigal
