Piranha question!!!

Your P's might nip each other for the duration of their lives. @ 3-5" they are juvi to sub-adult - it proabably has more to do with the pecking order than lack of food or space for the time being. RBP's will instinctively thin their numbers if the food supply is to small, not enough space, or poor health within the shoal. The nutrional value of feeder goldfish is definately in the negative, a tank full of zero is still zero - just an uneducated reponse from a bussiness man.

In reguards to establishing the pecking order, and its funny you mentioned that, because today I sat there and just watched them for quite some time. And i noticed that there is one bully in the tank who is basically starting all the fights. Go figure, its the biggest one in the shoal (Murderface). Followed closley by the second bigest (Frankenstein).

It seems as though if another fish brushes up against him, he will lash out and snap at the other P. And he is always the first in line to take his fill when i put in chicken or fish meat or whatever is on the menue. Interesting behavior habits, community wise and on an individual level.
