Type- Red Belly
Quantity- 3
Tank type- Glass
Tank size- 55 Gallons
Gravel filter- None
Filter- I don't know what kind... but it is a sponge filter... two sided

[EDIT] Yeah I have been thinking about starving them... for a week or two until I feed them.... I tried giving them a $2 stake xD but they wouldn't eat... so what do you think I should feed them

I have the same setup and do a water change once every two weeks. I just feed them frozen cocktail shrimp and some feeders now and then. They only get fed once every 3-4 days.

I believe in using a temporary tank divider, chase the fish to one end and insert the divider, clean the empty side then repeat for the other side, some piranha will bite, I had a tank full in which several people were bitten.

Hey man,

I just got a red belly a week ago about the size of our palm, that's beside the question though. I have had poisonous water (high levels of nitrite) and killed two barracudas because I neglected my water changes. So, do a water change once a week (taking out a third of the water) with one of those long tubes which rather vacuums the bottom by sucking out wast and maybe fish remains, stc. My piranah is chasing some goldfish right now, and sometimes it will only take a couple of bites, leaving a head floating and so on. Try to clean that also.
And I woudn't be worried of it attacking you or anything . . . mine hides by a couple of bushy water plants every time I put my hand in the tank - and it's been only a week.
Anyway . . . have fun - it's a great fish!!

Right now I'm doing a water change like every week or every two weeks... I don't know why but it seems that the water seems to be cleaner when you leave it clean for a day or so... but then again no place to put the Pirahnas
