Why does this question always come up as u see from past and earlier post bascally nothin tht yu would not mind losing

I'm through the tank mate part, if you'd read a lil bit, I'm asking about how long does it tank a piranha to grow another inch bigger?

They generally shoot up to 5-6 inches quickly, and then it's just an inch a year after that. Mine went from Dime size in july to 5-6 inches by last month. Funny thing is i've only lost one and it was the biggest one that got picked off last week

Silver dollars, although similar looking to piranha, do not make good tankmates.

I have had pretty good luck with neon tetras But you must have adult (Large)( 4" is not large ;)..) Piranha as they show little interest in a fish so small and fast but it is important that the piranha are large in size and eating "big" food lots of places to hide is great help to. Keep in mind this is not a sure fire thing as with a piranha tank everything is food hell your lucky if they don't eat each other. so if you do add tank mates just consider them more expensive feeders ....

you could put a breeding pair of convicts in with them, i have two rbps and about 30 convicts with load of fry and an african cichlid, they all get on generally with the odd fatality
