Piranha

Piranha are easy and you will get board soon with them. heres how to catch... hook size 1/0 or less most any line will work but there teeth easily cuts line so this must be prevented by the use of a metal shank. you can use hand line or a pole, either one will work. they come out at night or in the morning rarely during the day. bloody meat is best for there size they fight pretty well a strong pole must be used for adults over 7 inches. they travel in schools and were you catch one you catch a million.
hope that helped.

Ps soft plastic lures arent good as they will slice right through it i lost three in a day due to this.

Cool! Thanx for the info. I'm not going soon but my dream is to fish the Amazon and I hear that Piranhas are premiere game fish there.

Yeah, lol pihrannas are anything but gamefish in the amazon if anything they piss you off when you are fishing for other more "premiere gamefish" lol.

i haven't fished for p's in years, but i would just put a chunk of chicken on a small hook and leave the line in a plant-dense area for 5-10 minutes. Never failed

LoL piranha are baitfish for the real game fish in the amazon!!
EXACTLY! lol plus they dont put up a fight on the rod like real game fish!

a 10 pounder I imagine would be a good fight. I read in an igfa book that they are good cgamefish that are strong fighters. They're also agressive and can be caught on plugs bigger than them. They are also everywhere including "harbors" near villages in the Amazon that have no other fish and are attracted by the people cleaning their catch and tossing the scraps into the water. I saw an animal planet thing on Piranhas with Nigel Marvin. He fished with a guide in ne of those ares and caught a Red Belly, a Black Rhom, and a Sharp Snouted.
