What's the difference between the caribe and the red belly piranha, if any? :feedback:

Size and cosmetic. Caribe grow larger and have a distinct black spot. I put in a long day at work (8AM to 12:30AM and am too lazy to post a pic. Just do a google image search.

are you talking appearance wise or attitude? appearance wise, caribe get bigger, tend to have a more "bulldog" shaped head, and have a black humeral spot... if you are wondering about attitude, they tend to be a bit more active in a tank and will usually run the tank if mixed in with red bellies.

yep i agree.

scientificaly they are in the same genus (pygocentrus) but different species (pygo. nattereri and pygo. cariba)

caribes get slighty larger usualy maxing out at 14 inchs and red bellies usualy max at about 12 (some red bellies have been known to reach 14 inches however)
