Dont solve the problem, solve the cause.

Inequality is a big problem.
The seas are being emptied by 1st world nations, so those fishermen cant feed their families.
So they go out to make money.
They aint pirates, they are fishermen.

Also one of the big problems is the easy acces stupid people
have to firearms.

omg, what exactly do you think they do with those guns, shoot the fish like some damn safari?! the RPG's just in case they come across a whale?!

they arent that poor, they have some of the best GPS and other sailing equipment (not a sailor so i dont know what is availible for small crafts) availible on the civilian market, along with weapons and thousands of rounds.
if they were really bothered they would have used that money to feed their families for a year.

those pirates need a message sent out to them that its not ok to be a pirate and its not ok to take what doesnt belong to you, they need to know they will die if they do it.
an extremely harsh example must be made so a precedent is set and the message hits home.

Pirates are not fishermen. Pirates are vermin. Inequality, my hairy hind end. Spend some time in other countries you arm chair ideologist. You not only haven't got a clue, you couldn't find one if someone gave you a roll of quarters and a push towards a vending machine full of them.

I am from the US but have been to 4 countries not my own. Unfortunately, Somolia was one of them. Their mindset is beyond screwed up. The other three countries were eye openers, very different(well, two of them were, anyway), but I would enjoy going back to any of them. South Korea, Thailand and Canada are the other three. Canada is a little different, not so much though.
