I dont know if anybody else knows why it seems that Piraya need more pristeen water conditions than any other piranha species there is . Any comments or thoughts would be informative !

Never heard of that, imo all fish deserve good water quality and piranhas especially! Even tho they can survive pretty harsh conditions.

I couldn't say for sure. I have a Gold Diamond Rhom, Red Bellies, Elongatus, and a Piraya. All get routine water changes as "F1 VET" said, all deserve good water quality

All do deserve top notch water quality . My point being ... it seems like when there is an influctuation or spike say in ammonia shortly after a good feeding , it seems like the piraya is the first to show signs of a clouded eye or a little funk on the pectoral fins . I have had a mixed shoal just over 5 years , starting at an inch when i got them to all at 12" + to the biggest at over 13" . I do weekly water changes usally 50% to 60% and have from the begining and keep a close eye on water parameters . It just seems to me the Piraya is always the first to show signs if things fluctuate .

Because they come from fast flowing rivers that tend to be more pristine.
