hey all , i had 3 large piraya in my 300 , now i am down to 2 . the two piraya had beenbullying the one seen here for awhile before the actual murder . now i am thinking a divider between the last 2 may be a good idea. i measured this bad boy out at 13.5 inches tl. heres some pics. piraya1.jpgpiraya2.jpg

thanks guys its hard when you lose a fish youve had for so long , but ive had so many losses in that tank its kind of expected. i will begin working on a divider so i can finally stop worrying about them killing eachother. sorry brother not for sale at this time but if things change ill let you know. these last two are slightly bigger and i really wanna see how large i can grow them. piraya are by far my favorite pygo but they need alot of tank space and i would not shoal them again unless i had a very large pond with plenty of vegetation. look out for this in the future lol they make my 300 seem small

sorry to hear about all these Tony, yea I think its a good idea to divide the 300g now if you want to keep the remaining two alive.

yes im done with them killing eachother , my 8 ft tank seems too small to keep multiple piraya long term unless its divided. these monsters need a large pond to shoal. but even then you never know.....

yea, it really depends, I know ppl with smaller tanks that had better luck than you did also know ppl with larger tanks and had similar or worse luck than you did.
What's the water temp like this time? I remember previous massacred happened when water temp when into the 90's or something like that.

yes some fish are just a holes, ever since i got a chiller(jbj arctica 1/3 hp) things got better , i keep the temp at a constant 74 degrees, my most dominant piraya wants that tank for himself. even when well fed i catch him giving my last piraya crap. helluva fish though
