yesterday evening i fed the 4 buffalohead (staetocranus causarius) fry in a 15g tank
and today morning i go to have a look at them and put some food i see only one of them there
its a bare bottom tank, with a sponge filter and has an apple snail for clean up crew

i am angry and pissed and dumbfounded as to what happened to them

i sealed the tank just now

just venting as i am feeling frustrated over the missing buffaloheads and also the death of my new JK FH, had traded my 12"+ silver aro for it :irked::irked:

sorry to hear bro.. that sucks :(

they will have another spawn of buffalo heads in a couple of weeks.. just take them out and have a tank ready for them ... at least you know you have a great breeding pair.. i am sorry about you loss though... it is rough to lose them like that.

i did keep the fry in a separate 15g tank only half filled
and they were doing well for the past 3 weeks and had grown a little too
i will be emptying my africans tank
and keep only africans all others will be sold

so then what happened to them... were they sucked up into the filter??

I hope its not bad news, it would be a shame if he'd lost them! :(

its just a sponge filter with an air intake thats all so no way can they sucked up
and theres just an apple snail with them and nothing else
did actually remove the filter and check but to no avail
have sealed up the tank thinking that a common gecko might have gotten to them, i know it seems far fetched, but just want to be sure that atleast one among them will grow up to go into my africans tank

it is bad news
they are for sure gone
as there are no hiding places in the tank unless the snail is sharing his shell with them
thank you dawn
