Whats weird is he doesn't like any other cats though, just ours outside he will bark at and chase other cats away

This thread came in a lot of use for me!!! I'm a member of Kappa Pi at CNU and we are painting the SPCA shelter in Newport News to brighten it up and make it look happier. I volunteered to paint a wall that promotes pitbulls since they have A LOT of them waiting to be adopted. Bettagurl, if you stop by the shelter, don't be suprised if you see a wall mural of Tink and your neice.

I was also playing with a pit-boxer mix and almost adopted her!!! She was so funny! Very playful little girl. I'll post pics of her later.

I have no burning desire to own pits, but I would never be objective to owning (especially after reading this thread!). If I ever happened upon a good rescue, don't think I could say no (what can I say? My mom adopted a lot of animals when I was a kid).

I have raised German Sheperds all my life, and I can tell you their temperment can be FAR worse than pits. I think the only difference is that most people who get Germans train them because their temper is very well known. Pits, on the other hand, are quite often owned by the dregs of society who actually foster this behaviour, giving them a bad rep. I have seen the stories of children being mauled by them, and I also saw the owners...

I used to work in the ER as a nurse. I saw more bites from golden retrievers, chows, labs, shepherds, and dalmatians than I did pitbulls. Esp bites on small kids. I think any dog is capable of being aggressive, just like people. We are all products of our environment.
I happen to like pitbulls a lot. I have 3 of them. I also have cats and had these dogs since my son was little. They have been great dogs the whole time, and I think the cats are scarier than the dogs lol. If ppl come over its not the dogs they need to worry about...lol.
