Pits On Fish's Body

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The only reason I haven't done that is because he hasn't been acting sick. If I knew he would die from it I probably would put him down.
Good luck. I hope he recovers. I'm interested to see how this turns out so keep us updated.

I forgot to add that. Nitrates have been around 20 ppm over the past month, I dosed metroplex for about a week, and I'm currently going on a week with salt.

Should I continue dosing metroplex?

Are you dosing the water of feeding the fish meteroplex? Consuming metro is more effective. Get NLS hexshield 3mm pellets which has both metro and epsom salt. The fish will have to be starved at least 1 week so that you have a higher chance of it eating it.

I was dosing, but I can feed metro instead.

Did some tank watching last light and it turns out that it was the Mota. Until I figure out what I want to do with him, he's currently sectioned off from the other fish, and I'm continuing to do 60% water changes every other day in effort to help the Vieja heal.

It's odd that your fish doesn't appear to have any fin damage, if this damage was as you say from being bitten by another fish. Then again Mota do tend to have a nasty streak in them. Good luck.

Update- I've been keeping up with the 60% water changes every other day (most I can do because I can't easily drain the sump), but I ran out of salt so I'm currently just dosing melafix and metroplex. The nitrates out of the tap are 20 though, so that's the lowest the tank can get to.

I've noticed growths inside and along the edges of some of the pits, but this was the first time I was able to get a good picture of it. Any ideas?
