Plain ol senegal 3yo

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's just a washed out senegal. Not leucistic.

I'd agree that this one looks platinum... I keep mine on white sand and both are still a dark brown. Has it always been this color?

Some senegals are lighter based than others. :) I've seen senegals that look closer to platinum in white sand.

hmmm.... the thing that gets me is op states it has been in many different substrates & it has always been white. Would be interesting to see it in a darker substrate. That for sure would eliminate the possibility of it being washed out.

If you look at some of the pictures carefully, you'll see pale greyish/brown tone. Espcially around the head, face and upper body. IME, platinum senegal would look more white, espcially under bright light.

Well guys i thank you for your replies. I would put him on a dark substrate tank but he already switched tank this week and i dont want stress him out. Maybe in the future i will ad i picked this guy out @ 3" from a batch of brown ones i thought he was unique so i bought him. He was on blue gravel and dark red gravel for first few years always looked this clear white. Who knows maybe hes just a light colored regular one but i love his unique color either way. I dont know if he been pictured while he was little i can do some searching. But i do thank you all for your help.
