Doesn't sound like a happy fish.. You sure he's healthy? Maybe your light is too bright? I have a 12 inch silver and he's always swimming at the top of the tank... (separate tank from the discus)

I have a discus/ arowana/ ray tank, and it works great. Your tank would look great with some discus coloring up the middle area. I was just wondering, though... How's the aro/ cory combo working out and how long have you had them together?

your combo will work. only thing i would change about the tank is a brighter background. with a black background, most of the time your discus will show stress bars. or they will pepper up if you get not to good quality discus.

I personally like solid light blue or light green. I feel that the printed paper backgrounds with images on them don't bring out the colors of the fish as well.
