Planaria worms......dang

Gravel vacs with your water changes should do it normally when you over feed and the waste is left in the tank will cause this they are harmless.

I really don't think I'm over feeding. I have two large cichlids, one RTxSN and used to have an arowana in the same tank. Arowana and catfish never make a mess when they eat but the cichlids do. I feed them cut up shrimp and Hikari Cichlid Gold pellets and Nutrafin Max Spirulina Sticks. I feed them only once a day and no more than they can eat. I actually don't feed them as much as they can eat because the tilapia would go forever. I hand feed the shrimp to RTxSN as well as the arowana. The JD always blows half of the pellets out his gills and that fills the water with tiny bits of food and I have no smaller fish to clean those up. The same kind of happens with the shrimp. Always bits of debris after. Another problem I have, and I advise all who read this (because I didn't know at the time) not to use it in a large tank with large fish, I used fluval Stratum substrate for planted tanks. Sooooo hard to clean and always has brown sediment that gets stirred up and settles on everything. I hate it and am hoping to take it out and put in regular substrate in the not so distant future. Do I need a few smaller fish to clean up those bits of food?

YEs the worms do wiggle through the water. I'm 99% sure they are planaria and I know they are harmless but it really does look kinda gross. I've never had them in any of my smaller tanks.

Yeah target fish will eat them up just gravel vac really good on weekly water changes and make sure there are no dead spots in the tank.

I had them when I had gravel.. Once I removed the gravel they went away lol. Adding salt and thorough vacuuming will help.
