Planetcatfish was always my go to choice for finding information on my phone but recently I cannot use it. Every time I try the adverts take over the page and I cannot see any of the actual information. Not sure if this is something with Planetcatfish or something with my phone although I don’t seem to get this issue on any other site.

Yeah noticed the same starting maybe this past Fall.. Same w/ Aquabid, though AquaBid sometimes wigs out on my laptop as well... Cost alot to keep these sites up and running..

Check ScotCat (https://www.scotcat.com/home.htm) and Sudamerikafans (https://www.suedamerikafans.de/pt-br/) which both provide similar levels of data re: catfish/plecos..

I used to also use loricariidae.info, but it seems they're no longer open to the public and now strictly focus on scientific publications and research rather than general info...

I rarely use my phone but i'm 100% sure you can find an adblocker for whatever phone browser you're using.

On my computer I use AdNausem and it works great:

There's also ways to block them before they hit your device such as Pi-hole:

I don’t generally dislike ads, and can see that sites use them for revenue. What is bothering me is that on there on the phone at the minute, the ad takes up the full screen, then when I minimise it it takes up half the screen and the data scrolls beneath it so I cannot read it!

My fingers are crippled and using a phone is basically torture, so I've never bothered to learn how to block ads on one. I know it's possible, it's just never came up in my day to day life.

What you're describing sounds ridiculously intrusive and annoying, which means someone, somewhere out there, has found a way to stop it. I wish you luck on your search and if you find anything report back please!
