It seemed to work out good, the fish was way overkill packed partly because they knew it was being shipped and partly because I told my friend to make sure it was packed well. He was telling me about some of the other stuff there so I made a note after hearing about it to go visit him at Hopkins sometime next month probably and hit it up. I would be interested in baby arapaima's if they have them which it says they do at times or maybe something flatter.....not going to say it....but doesn't mean I won't get one and mail it back to me Here's some initial pics of my new future MONSTER! I can't wait for him to get big in the 55 then move to the 240 or straight to the pond if he catches up in size to my other shovelnoses ~Trent
more pics after hes calmed down some, already noticing alot more of what I read about, the planiceps cruise the mid/top water levels alot more and really enjoy a little current which is nice since usually my other shovelnose specie of catfish just chill on the bottom; I already got my planiceps eating hikari sinking pellets off the bottom and freeze dried krill floating on the surface when he was cruising the top of the tank ~Trent
Will do I've been trying to keep a log of growth rates of my fish in general especially the shovelnose cats so rest assured there will be plenty of pics and also got a new friend for him today at the lfs...Juruense Best purchase I've made for the price which was a steal! I paid $60 for it because I used to work there, it was marked $80 which 60 isn't bad considering if I had bought one online at 6" it would have been around 60-80 but then shipping would have been around 60-80 so I'm very pleased with the find and also the fact that its about the same size as the planiceps so I shouldn't have any problems growing them up together and probably moving them pretty soon to the 240 in about 2 months. Here's a quick pick of the Juruense I picked up today(pic was at store) ~Trent
