Planning a collection trip to Peru!

This is very interesting, i am actually planning on heading to Irian and then Papua new guinea in 6 months or so if all goes well. anybody knows any technique
on catching fish without injury for the fish? and how to keep the water oxygen levels during transport?

I think a seine net or dip net would be the best. And as Abarilot said, battery powered air pumps to provide oxygen. I'm not sure about during transportation though.

During transport via bus/truck/car use your battery powered pumps and 5 gallon buckets. When bringing them back via plane use fish bag with a little water and pure oxygen.

Yeah, that's how they ship fish. Oxygen put into the bags.

I have also done some research on this as I will do a fish collection trip one day to the Amazon.
Perhaps we should arrange for an MFK trip in a year or two!?!? That'd be sweet

That would be awesome!!! It would be a great way for us on MFK to get connected in person instead of behind a keyboard! Maybe if you stay connected to this thread when the time comes, maybe we could get a group going?
