wait how come a 135 wont be ok? ike 6feet by 18x20
Becuase a silver is going to grow over 2 feet (24") so a 18" wide tank wont suffice. best to get 3 feet wide or atleast 2 feet wide. But the 135 would make a good grow out. Probably last you about 2-3 years.

Within about 18 to 24 months the silver aro will be at least 24" long and should be kept in a minimum 6'x2'X2'. You will then need to be looking to upgrade within a couple years after. Figure a tank 8 foot long and 30" wide. Explain this to yor parents, research what this will cost them. Let us know if their still up for it.

I couldnt have said it any better.....

Keeping an arowana is a big commitment... and money.. there are ways to keep the cost of keeping them low.. IE food ... But as for tank space.. theres nothing to cut corners on... also.. it wont be fair for the fish if you want to keep it healthy....

then 240gallon it is.
ok wat would be the estimated quess for a 240 glass with cheapest canopy and stan with filter?

I think you owe it to your parents to research this yourself. Provide them with links so they know exactly what they will have to spend for your fish.

You can't just run and tell them some guy on MFK said it would only cost a couple hundred bucks.

I agree. And anyways, the costs varies from place to place. Are you planning on getting a brand new one? A second hand one? Alot of factors affect the price.

trust me, if you are wondering if you can put a SILVER AROWANA in a 10 gallon, even if its a baby, arowana is just not for you. Too many people giving away silver arowanas, so don't expect someone to gladly accept it. Unless you have a 300+ gallon tank, silvers are not for you.

yea my dad told that too me. he has them in china. 3of them in a 400gallon home made tank. its at his factory and he asked his friends to help him make one. but ima go 240 most likey have it in the garage. money isnt really an issue.
