Hey all, i was hoping you guys could critique me on my planned stocklist for my new 125 gallon tank. Right now i was planning on getting:

2 Senegal Birchirs
3 clown loaches(Still debating on these)
1 pictus cat or 4 line pim (Would a Lima Shovelnose be too big you think?)
1 Pike Chichlid (Like a Belly crawler, not really sure exactly which species i want)
1 NTT or AT dat (Would a NTT be too big?)

Does this sound good? Is there more i can add? Any help is appreciated:). I really like Chichla alot, but this tank is far too small for one right?

The tank is 72x18x23(Just a standard 125g by all glass), going to be filtered by 2 AC110s(Yay for $33 AC110s! Thanks MFK!), 1 Rena XP3(Cycling on my 20 gallon tank right now lol). I was planning on going with just pool sand for substrate. I can't think of any other details you guys might need right now lol let me know if you guys think of anything else:)

dats grow big but grow reeeealllly slow. Pike cichlids are not a large fish and dont require a ton of room. it sounds kind of empty especially if you get juvi fish. as far as pbass goes, get what you want (besides tems). . . just when it gets too big, sell it and make a few bucks. there are endless possibilities given the size of the tank

youd be good with that stock, are you planning on buying a larger dat b/c you know they grow slow as dirt. i personally would add more fish, maybe like a larger cichlid or something or a different bichir like a palmas or delhezi. filtration sounds good. im planning on pool filter sand in my 125g too b/c its cheap and looks pretty good.

Wow talk about fast replys! My local fish store always seems to have C. Occelaris, how long do you think it would take to grow out of a 125g? I guess i could always get a pond later on but i wouldnt want to build one in the next year or two.

What other fish would you consider adding?

i would personally think it would be fine until it reaches a little less than the small side of the tank depending on what your final stock list would be maybe 15 inches?? maybe bigger, maybe smaller youll have to play it by ear. usually they are 2-3 inches at the LFS and grow about an inch a month so you would get almost 2 years out of it. just an outsiders opinion.

As far as other fish an oscar would be good with that list. tons of personality and plenty active.

I just got a paratalapia polleni and 2 cuban cichlids and they are awesome fish, i would throw those out there too for ideas. just depends on what you like. Loads of options.

I really like the look of both of those fish, maby i could do something like:

2 Birchirs (One palmas, one senegal)
1 4line pim (Any other larger catfish?)
1 NTT
1(Maby 2) Occel Pbass
1 paratalapia polleni (Thanks for the suggestion thats a nice lookin fish!)
1 Cuban Cichlid (Again thanks for the suggestion)
1 Pike Cichlid (Species Suggestion?)

I'm still open for suggestions :)

sounds good to me, you might be able to get a lima shovelnose instead of 4-line, but 4lines are a personal favorite, so I'd have one
