Planning on increasing filtration - your feedback please!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
id stay away from magnums...seem cheaply made and not very efficient IMO...im not sure why everyone says rena xp4s are bad i use them with zero problems but yeah you cant go wrong with eheim, rena, or fluval

o you can go bad with fluval all right!!! don't buy anything fluval unless its FX5... they have redeemed themselves with it.. but the rest is junk...

and about xp4... not bad mouthing it's reliability.... i heard the flow is horrible from people who have used them... for the xtra $$ they say it's just not worth it and to get xp3.. and last time i checked xp4 was 200 bucks or more... i would cough up 30 more dollars and buy the fx5 with standard free shipping.... this guy wants a smaller filter anyway

you can get a new xp4 for less then 200 most places online...I love it when people have one bad filter or maybe one bad experience and that makes an entire line of filters junk...fluvals are good quality made filters and while I would buy fx5s all day if I had the cash, 405s and the lower ones are not bad filters overall as well and im sure if you took a poll (and people have here) more people then not would agree about fluvals being good filters...also I guess I must be the one lucky guy on earth who has had good experiences with my xp4s and thinks they are great filters.
