Planning --- Outdoor Pond (Semi-Above-Ground)

Filtration I'd go with a DIY. If you look through the pond section some people post some really good ones. You may want to go with the 55 gallon drum sand/gravel filter. It works real well especially since you have such a large pond. Also it is cheaper then buying a filter and works better.

Here is a link to my pond costruction thread, it might give you some ideas.

It is 8'X10.5'X5.5' 3400 gallons with about 400 gallons in filter volume. My filteration is all DIY with a 270 gallon settling chamber and a 100 gallon moving bed filter on the bottom drain circuit. As well as a UV and 100 gallon sand&gravel filter on the skimmer circuit.

Headaches ... they just keep coming up :(

Added to the "never-ending" rain @ the moment, I know hear that I need permission from
our local council to construct a pond of that depth on MY OWN freaking property ... seriously like WTF !

Ok, got the go-ahead to dig 1.6m down from my local council.
So, we are going to build up 80cm above-ground walls and fill water up to 40cm there.
Total depth of 2m ... achievement unlocked :)

Spoke to me one Civil guy in this week, they will be starting a test-dig this weekend.
To check soil type, density and the water-level ... OMG, IT'S MOVING SOMEWHERE lol :)
