Its not what we prefer you to buy since ultimately only you can make that decision. However, since you have raised the question of compatibility, those 2 types that you prefer are known to be aggressive. If these were the only choice, then the green aro would stand a better chance of harmony with tank makes such as blood parrot etc.

Yup. Greens are aggressive, more so then reds or golds but less so compared to a Jar. However, many including Koji have been able to comm. greens successfully either as a group or with tank mates of a different species.

Well, what kinda tank do you plan on having>? 180gallon less? anyhow, MATTERS on your knowlege and COMMON sense....NOT SURE in that case. I would say to START with a silver if that s the case. Anyhow, you NEED a large tank in the end. GOOD LUCK

Well go with what you want just make sure if you buy a silver, you HAVE TO upgrade if its for life!

Having said that, every now & then a surprise comes along in the form of a abnormally docile specimen.

I have a couple silvers but after I build my 180gallon tank an Help my buddy with his 560gallon tank a black with myself....PEPRONALLY I love silvers but blacks are more TAME and seems that Silvers need plenty of room and TEND to BASH themself's into aquarium wall, stare, and eat fatty foods ETC. and get DROOP EYE. anyhow, black do not, just a bit more N rare. But being in hawaii really can be too choosey!
