I just got done with my 240g stand last week I wish I steel had the plans I would give them to you sorry
im thinking to build the base
96.5 x 24.5 out of 2x4's
and connecting the top frame and the bottom frame like this
how many ''legs'' do you think i need and how far apart should they be?

Is the gas can so if you don't like it you can burn it down?...Just kidding, looks good so far if that is your stand. Good luck!!

another idea my dad brought up was to prop the tank on cynder blocks.. and have someone come in and make a nice woodent frame around it.... any takes on this idea

Seen it done many times, only without the wood frame which is a neat idea I think.
One thing you can do is put a thin layer of concrete on top, with that you can level it out and make a very smooth surface. If you ever have to remove it, just use a small hammer to break the surface apart.
It all depends how fancy you want to get.

odds are im gunna start tommrow with the wooden stand.....
i plan on doing the base and the part where the tank will rest on...
then i would connect the 2, then make it pretty...
