Plant 10" in 24 hours!!

I'm sure it's a piece that shoots to the top and then flowers.. It was a bulb and it was floating at the top and growing till i did my water change.. Then i planted it in the sand and in the last 2 days it's shot a coupple stems toward the top.. One flowered but i it flowered while floating.. Now i believe the flowering stems are the ones that are shooting.. Like i said I am not very experienced with plants.. But as soon as i find my camera battery I'll let you guys identify it.. Though it shouldn't be too hard without one.. It is a WALMART package of bulbs

it's most likely liles, they are the only bulbs I really see at walmart, and are known to have HUGE spurts like that.

Yeah, I've had those in my 55 before. If you watch it closely when it is getting ready to break the surface of the water you CAN see it grow.

I doubt that it is a lilly actually. Walmart sells the lillies, and apotogeton bulbs. lillies come in a grouping of 2 and apotogetons come in a bunch of 5. The apotogetons are extreme growers with their flower pads. I have had one in my tank go from bottom to top, ~22", in one day. The one problem I found is that with such fast growth the stem will break easily.

it would be awesome to take a pic every 5mins or so, and then make a fast slideshow of the pics as the plant grows (obv with camera in same position at all times or very slow movement)

really? so, did you get 5 bulbs or 2, tongue?
