I pack the hob's with pothos. They grow beautifully and look nice, as well as do a bang up job keeping my water polished and within acceptable parameters. I still do weekly water changes, though. There really is no substitute for that.
Think of it like this: You *can* wear the same underwear every day for ever without washing them. Being able to do so doesn't mean you should.
