I think you have a shot with java fern and anubias. There are several types of anubias too. I have Anubias hastifolia growing well under a single T8 in a 55 gallon. Anubias nana is the most common, and smaller. And I consider Anubias barteri to be the most suitable for your tank because they get pretty big, with large dark leaves, and they don't need to be buried in the sand.

Of course, for about $100 you could get 2 36" coralife T5 fixtures with 2 bulbs each (white and pink or white and blue). They are so cheap because they are NOT high output T5's. Only about 20W per bulb, but they will grow plants very well. I use one for my 29g reef too.
