Nice. I would just add some plants with Height, like vals, java ferns or something that floats. the wood is awesome but he empty space above detracts from it. Provide a plant canopy up there and you have more stocking options. Plus You will really make those Angels "pop"

You're right, vals would be good. I'm going to put vals along the back soon. I don't want to do much canopy because it blocks a lot of light. I'll just let the vals grow up across the top a little.

Right now, I just have a 4 foot light from petsmart called "reef sun". The real light comes from the windows. It is sitting in a bay window so I open the two side windows during the day and let the sun do its job!

Might need to look at the temp of the bulb since it says REEF. You want 5500k - 6500k TBH. Some use 10K but personally I am not a fan of true WHITE light.

I've had the same bulb on for a couple years. I'm not concerned about it. Like I said, most of the light comes from the sun. It has worked great for quite a while.

How did you get your "grass" to stay put in the sand?

How did you get your "grass" to stay put in the sand?

I built a mound of sand an inch or two high around the base of it, then put 3-4 small (1"-2") rocks around the mound to hold the sand in place.
