Well, I like them because they are very curious, come up to the glass to see what you are up to any time I approach the tank. They are the most saltwater-like-colored freshwater fish IMO.
If you decide to breed them, the young are very hard to get eating, they generally refuse anything that isn't alive, and the items have to be very very small.
Easy to take care of, thrive in a wide variety of water conditions (but need clean water with low nitrates, as with any other fish, of course) and swim in the most precarious way. It's hard to explain without the other person having experienced it themselves first hand.
