Planted Tank Center Piece

Oh, keyhole cichlids would be a great choice as well. I wouldn't do geophagus in a planted tank, not the best mix but it's possible.

I have a firemouth in my planted 20long community. He doesn't bother any of the smaller fish (tetras, cories, swords, and a loach). He has his little territory under a piece of driftwood that he defends though. Their personalities differ a lot though, so maybe mine is just really mild.

I have a 2 inch firemouth right now, and he gets picked on by my 4-5in blood parrot, but beats on my 4in male jewel daily. I guess he might be alright if he didn't feel threatened by the tetras, right?

That's why I actually got mine haha. He was getting picked on by a much bigger firemouth in my friend's tank, and we thought my community would be a better fit for him. He seems much happier now :) I think they're a good fit for a community tank with small fish

Yeah I know firemouths have different personalities. Mine's a marshmellow haha but I've heard that some are aggressive.

boesemani rainbows don't get too big (about 4 inches) and are impressively colored. they have very small mouths too, so they can only eat fry sized fish. one male and two females is a good stocking for lots of color and decent activity.
