ok so i'm new to the planted tank scene and i have only had my tank a few weeks and i am starting to notice that there are a few small snails, are they good/bad? i have heard that they can get out of control pretty easily so please let me know and what i should do if anything. thanks

ok i will try they are really small some are about the size of a grain of rice some are really really tiny

if they are the bad ones buy u some clown loaches, when i had loaches they loved snails, or a puffer =p

yeh they would, i have p's 2 but ive had luck keeping armored cats with mine, i have a hoplo cat in there and they have never bothered it, he enjoys snails so u could look into that if u want, also they sell had-a-snail which kills the snails but ive never used so im not sure if it is plant safe or not

Neither of these are good options. Never add a fish to solve a problem, it will just create another problem. Had a snail is not very good for plants.

The best option for you will be to use a potato sunk to the bottom, and left overnight. pull it out in the morning, carefully, and you should remove a vast majority of the snails. Repeat as needed until all snails are gone.

yea go with wyld's suggestion i have heard that before, just make sure its a potato :)

will the potato be ok for fish or will it kill them
