I'll second the gregwatson ferts.

CO2... currently 2 diy canisters, but I just found out today that I have 2 co2 regulators coming my way, one I ordered, and one I got from the shop I use to work at, and they are going to send it to me. oh well. I'm going to be trying out a double membrane diffusor from DF&S.

Filtration Eheim 2026, and fluval 404.

Vital.
All plants will benefit with extra dissolved CO2 in your tank water. There will be some CO2 already present but with good fertilization and light, CO2 willl probably be the limiting factor on growth. Maintain circulation to keep up your levels of CO2.

When I do waterchanges I just suck any detritus off the bottom that I can. It isn't to important to get all of it, as it will be used by the plants for growth.

magnet algae scraper for the glass.

I've got plants in plastic cups and a very thin 0.5inch sand layer in the tank so i can stirr up the gravel without bothering the plant rooting.
