Hey all,
Im thinking about putting some plants in my 125 tank. It has a black sand substrate. the only trouble is ive got a RTC in there and hes a bouldozer. anybody got any plants in with there RTC or other large cats? I dont mind if he pushes it around a little i just dont want to waste the money if he gunna destroy them. Any advice or experience is appreciated.

Hmm...you should check my for sale thread. I am selling a large anubias. They are not high maintenance, and can take a beating.

the rtc is probly going to be there for a few months so dont worry too much about the plants they wont be taking a beating for long lol, get java fern

how much, cant afford much

and is able to grow attached to driftwood or in pots? or how does it do in sand

You cant plant the rhizome...just tie it onto some drift wood...this is a really nice plant so I am asking a fair price on it.

You can get some of everything except the red root floaters for $30 shipped to your door.

I would worry less about what your tank looks like and more about your fish being adequately housed.

But that's just me, some people are different.

No worries man, upgrading to a 1000gal pond when he needs it. He's fine right now, and the plants aren't really for looks rather than for making sure the ammonia and nitrates don't spike. He's the only fish in there, he's fine trust me
