My tank is 3/4 water and 1/4 land... I was wondering if there was a large plant that would come out of the water and take up the dead space above the water. Something that would come up and become like an umbrella or like mini tree over the water

If you can find any large anubias, that would do the job.... although i wouldn't recommend growing one out, as it would take forever...

I have had pennywort [hydrocotyle verticillata] grow out of the water. But these wouldn't umbrella too much.

Mangrove? I've also seen a really nice set-up with a some type of fig tree that looked really cool.

Those seem cool, i was under the impression magroves were salt water.... also how fast would these trees grow? cuz obviously i couldn't have a tree coming out of my basement (unless they're not actually trees and i'm just an idiot)
