Honestly, I wouldnt even want to own such a fish. How can people like this more than a nice and beautiful high quality red Arowana or a high quality golden Aro? I dont get it.
Is it just because of the rarity and therefore a "status symbol"?

The same way you look at Rays, people have their own personal taste of fish. You may love rays but other people don't. Other people love aro you may not. Just a matter of personal taste. Although I agreed red and gold are nice, but having snow aro is best.
Just like florida gar or alligator, im 100% sure people would want snow gar. just sample.
We would be having the same discussion if it was flipped and platinum or snow were the norm, and, colored aros with were the exception. As with many things in life (and hobbies), the scarcity and exclusivity creates the demand, and price.
I want that snow arowana supper bad and I've never really been into the flashy red or gold Asian aro's are their jardinis and silver aro's in this color morph aswell because I'd love to look into them? Just imagine one in a blacked out tank with black sand some driftwood and vibrant live plants!!!! Ugh that's like fish tank porn or it is for me atleast.
