id just use fake ones.. the silk fake ones really look good. and get a plant that sortof floats along the top too-oscars get bored and need stuff to do and rearranging the tank keeps them stimulated. i never minded that mine would rearrange the tank-i figure they live in it so they can decorate it however they want.
if you go to a hobby store.. (like Michaels, or Hobby Lobby) you can get fake plants ALOT cheaper than what it would cost at a lfs. and they look pretty good too.
