if you are that concerned about parasites, quarantine the plants in a bucket for a couple of days with a few table spoons of aquarium salt. This will kill off any parasites. Then just be sure to rinse off the remaining salt off the plants

ohh ok thanks should i just dunk these plants in tap water? or does it have to have dechlor. added too? i have absolutely no idea when it comes to plants lol

Hi guys.
Sorry, I should have been clearer.
There are a few ways to disinfect plants.

1 . As the poster earlier said, you can soak in a Aquarium salt bath for a while then rinse. (use declhorinated water to rinse)

2 . Soak the plants for a few days in Alum USP. This will also destroy snail eggs. (about 10-12 tspns per gallon of water)

3 . By far the most effective is Potassium permangenate.
This will pretty much garauntee against anything. soak plants in this for about half an hour.

Hi,

Potassium permanganate is the way to desinfect.
But dont use too muc, just a little grain is enough to get the water daaaaaaaaaark purple.
If its too much the plants will die too. Same for salt.

By the way, whats so bad about snails, these little helpers clean up the tank, and a lot ofchanna like to munch on them.
Thats the reason, why I nearly have none.
