First of all, you need to choose plants that are suitable for that purpose. Amongst the most popular species are anubia, java fern and java moss

Heres my bicher growout tank. Various anubias, java fern and java moss. :)

The tank includes 1 retropinnis, 1 ornate, 1 senegalus , 2 delhezi, 2 Ctenopoma acuitrostre, and 1 ABF, though you cant see any of them.

Its a standard 20watt single tube fixture. No CO2.
Anubias, java moss and java fern are all low light plants, thats the nice thing about them. Crypts are also low light but need a substrate. They dont use as much nitrate as faster growing plants, but the nitrite and nitrate are always zero! even if i skip a waterchange for a week.

I have personally attached anubias to my piece of driftwood, and also a java fern to the same log. all you need to do is use some fishing line or find away to hold the plant in place for a few months (i used straight pins, not good idea because of the metal thingy but hey it workd)

Ive got some java moss tied to my driftwood with some string.TRied to get some to stick to rock but after a month it was still loose

The rock really needs to have alot of nooks and crannies, like a lava rock or something to that effect. smooth rocks take much longer.

You can also use hair nets. I like using hair nets because you can spread java moss over whatever you want thickley. And there isn't one line cutting through the java moss

is there any type of vine plant that grows around stones wood and tank decorations?

Howdy,

I had Anubia cover driftwood and coconut shells, and Java fern also forms extending rhizomes.
