I dont think we have a real spot for plant talk and I dont want to be in the lounge for too long so maybe it fits here.I keep lots of cacti and I also have been starting out in bonsai with several types of plants.Ive got some palms and dif junipers.Lots of ferns.Anyone else here keep potted plants for hobby?I will post pics in a few days.If anyone hase pics of their plants please post them.Normaly a large 12 inch golden barrel cacti goes for 45 to 60 bucks here.I got one today for 25 bucks:headbang2and they have 2 more so its killing me:(I really should wait till some bills are paid, lol.

I go to local park near my house and there are Cacti everywhere on the side of the railroad tracks. I use to keep bonsai but always died on me:screwy:...... so now I keep this large lucky bamboo plant, Its grown a lot.:grinno:

I keep a few plants but nothing spectacular except for my sago palm. I have a cat who eats everything so pretty much all my plants are up high on something. If it wasn’t for that cat, I’d have more plants in my house.

I just keep plants in my Vivs. But I do have a banana tree growing in my office at work along with a Hindu rope plants and a few other odds and end.
I did talk to my mom yesterday who is coming home from a 2 week trip to Hawaii. She told me she is bringing me back some plants as a thank you for watching her beardies while she was gone.
She said it took a bit of paper work and a few phone calls but was able to bring them back with her. SO i wonder what kind of plants I am going to get

I love house plants both old school ones and exotic ones. I have a large collection of cacti and suculents. My favorites ones are Astrophytum,Lithops,Melocactus and Ferrocactus:headbang2. I´ve had many Venus flytraps but they allways seem to trive for a whille and then die:cry: My record whit this specie is 2 years

I wanted to do some canibals in a viv but I may use the tank for a sand boa, lol. We will see.If I did would light from windows work or would they thrive better with a tube over the tank?

i keep carnivores at the minute (only hanging pitcher plants, mam left rest of collection outside) and also lots of viv plants such as palor parm, devil ivy ect. i am happy since i will be allowed to put lots of tropical plants in the orangry when its done.

natural light will be better than any artifical lighting. how bright is the window and is it in direct light?
