Hi iam new to this hobby..right now i have a small tank..i hav 3 koi,2 albino sharks,4 sucker,5 zebra and 2 rainbow shark..i wanted to put some live plants..but my fishes devoured them:nilly:...i hav only stems of those plants now:(...

iam planning to build bigger tank myself.want to use live plant..but wat kind i can use???

what size tank do you have?

Anubis plants are low light and i know goldfish dont eat them..

now iam building 57inch*15 inch*18inch tank..i dont hav gold fish..main monsters are koi..they devour my plants...

yes but goldfish and koi are both carp...anubis leafs are not soft and yummy im guessing if they dont eat it then koi wouldnt,,

so your building a 66 gallon tank?....koi are huge fish with huge bioloads for 3 koi alone that many gallons is no where near enough...closer to 200gl?

i got my previous tank from LFS...he gave some fishes along with it..i didnt know much abt them..but now the tank is too small for them..thats why i want to go 66 gallon tank...i will upload pic of them...u can see wat kind of fishes are there and how big they are:)

THE OLD TANK WAS 1 and half feet in length

I know the idea of getting rid of some fish isnt appealing but you HAVE to, its imperative that you do, Koi period are way too big that and your planned tank, you will still have to upgrade but offload some fish for the time being, google some stuff if your not sure and ask around here, theres a wealth of knowledge on here.

Edit: Keep the gouramis, loss the red tailed shark, gonna give your other fish grief in time to come.

thats why i joined this forum..in my place LFS are money minded and they dont have any knowledge of fishes...and iam new to this hobby..and they fool new people like us..

those albino sharks have also become big..but iam building 66 gallons tank...so kind of plants u suggest...in the pic u see mat filter but now hav a powerhead filter now(plants wont stand)...
i hav built another small tank..

now i hav-5 zebra,2 albino shark,6 gaurami(blue,pearl & gold),4 sucker(pleco-1black,3 albino),2 anglefish,2 rainbow shark(black&red,white&red),2 small koi.

2)why lose red tailed shark??does it cause problems to the plant?

3)once the koi and shark get too big i sell them back to LFS or put it into my "water well"(will Koi survive in the "fresh water well")
