in the aquarium is it better to have live plants or just nice fake plants?
or like are the live plants even usefull or am i just wasting my time on it?

i was always on the side of fake but now am in love with my real plants! They just add so much to the look of the aquarium. Live plants absorb nitrates, oxygenate the water during the day, provide grazing for the fish and provide cover. Fake plants require no pruning etc, they can be cleaned. Its personal preference really. Plants can help your tank out in terms of stabilising quality of water though, however if your maintenance is good then they are not essential. Make your own choice :)

I agree with the above.^

It's the circle of life. Fish waste feeds the plants (fish poop is fertilizer) and plant waste feeds the fish (O2). Too much fish poop (nitrates) is bad for your water quality and your fish. O2 is good for your fish as it is what fish breathe. [lion king] Akunamatata, circle of life [/lion king]

To me, it only makes sense to use real plants instead of fake. They almost always look better anyway. Especially after the fakes have been in there for a while and start to grow that algea on them.

To each his own, different stroke for different folks, it takes all kinds, live and let live, etc., but I don't know how anyone could choose fake plants over real. But that's just my opinion.

Live plants can be a pain but really do help stabilize a tank.

depends on how many plants you're going to have. if you're just going to have a single plant then it's not worth the hassle to try to keep it alive. if you're going with real plants, go all out in terms of plant stocking and you will reap the rewards of healthier fish and a nicer tank.

Actually they absorb all forms of nitrogen, and nitrates are not taken up as quickly as ammonia.

Even a single plant that is low light, and fast growing will make a huge difference.

my bad WyldFya, thanks for clarifying
