I've always thought that "Leucistic" was white with normal eye pigments.

Leucistic is actually the presance of yellow pigment in the cells and they Leucistic's arn't actually white.. but more of a golden yellowish color.. it's quite amazing to see and fairly rare (although we have seen quite a few pop up recently)

Aren't "albino" ID sharks really tyrosinase? Or negatively albino? Meaning "an albino whose cells lack tyrosinase (enzyme that synthesizes melanin) yielding a pale-white to creamy animal with pink eyes." to quote Odball.

So the black coloration can't prosper to due the lack in tyrosinae, causing white coloration to sort of take over.

You are correct, I don't know where they got the start out normal and turn white from but it's not leucistic.

I am not a big fan of ID shark, so I might sell them ;)
I'd love to have them but you are too far away to make it cost effective.

Exactly... they are bred to be this color and not natural morphs :D

Leucistic's don't turn white... they turn a goldish cream and it's not from birth... do a simple search in the forum and you'll see people have posted pics of the morph happening, quite a cool thing to see the progression from "normal" to this creamy golden color.. there are several reports online which also show the return to "normal coloration... the theory is that this could be done several times in a lifetime however I have yet to see a documented case of this. and would be interested to see such :D
