Platinum oscar?

It's not leucistic. Leucistic animals are golden/bright yellow. Platinum fish are completely white, no other coloration on their body.

Not all Leucistic animals are golden/Yellow. Leucistic snakes are pretty much solid white. Take a Look at Leucistic Ball Pythons for example, they are solid white bodied animals.

Not so sure platinum is "just a leucistic or albino", platinum JD for example, a combo of two different genes. Gold (which I believe is leucistic?) and electric blue, but not "just a leucistic" by any means. Not sure I've ever heard of any platinum fish (or any other animal) that only carried one color morph gene, they're almost always a combo of genes.
Also not clear how an albino or leucistic fish could possibly have black fins as part & parcel of it's phenotype, albinism/leucisim should strip any such pigments completely. I have to think that an albino/leucistic fish displaying such traits, has been fed something which deposited this dark pigmentation...odd that such fish only show the dark coloration in their fins & not on the body.

Nope, golden and yellow colored are Xanthic. Platinum/Leucistic can also carry some other colors. Some are totaly white colored with normal eyes and some can also show normal colors on some areas and also some dark markings too. But albino animals shows white and orange/pink only.

yeah, just realized I was thinking of xanthic and not leucistic, lol.

you cant use platinum jds in example here. That is probably the worst example and a complete invented trade name imo. When i think of platinum i think of angels, bichirs, and other fish that have white/silver color with no other colors. Not yellow, cream or albino with black eyes (lacking any pigment) i mean silver white with no other colors. If a fish does not look like this then i would not call it platinum.
