i had 2. tough not the platinum. both started getting white blotches with bloody borders. this eventually spread over the entire body and paralized the fish. no other fish were infected in the tank. any ideas what might have happened?

Seriously though...do you have any pics of the physical symptoms? What were the water parameters (pH, nitrites, nitrates, ammonia, temp, etc)? Were the 2 polys bought at the same time/from the same source? What are the other fish in the tank? Any other species of polys?

The more detailed your inquiry, the more accurate the response. You also will get more responses if you take this to your own thread in the proper forum.

thanks. just thought i'd jump right in. bought both fish at same time. had them for about 2 and a half years. they were doing fine until i noticed the acidity spiked hard. maxed out my test kit. nitrates were high and alot of algal growth. started doing water changes 2x a week. I added a piece of coral to the tank to try n fight the acidity. unfortunately no pics. It's been almost a year and i really want to get more polys.

tank mates 8" striped raphael cat, 6" synodontis, and 6" pleco at the time. no other fish ever got sick.

I think soon we will have a lot of this and will appear some different kinds to make us crazy!!
