The darkness on mine, and most others comes from melanin tho(black/brown color pigments) not xanthaphores. Many different types do yellow up quite a bit, but I have seen adults retain a very high white with very little yellow. If we are speaking to what pigmentation makes up "the majority" of color pigments present, i would still say white is predominant, even at 51/49% respectively.
Just as there are yellowish examples as adults, there are just as many white adults as well. In the reptile world we would explain it as the same mutation(or similar) bred from different lines. Sometimes they are allelic, and sometimes they are not. I believe it simply is a matter of 2 different wild lines that were pursued.
