Play sand sucks

no probs here. dont have fish that throw it around either but no messed up filters. even when I had my Fronts nothing was wrong.

okay after a few months of play sand in my 135 I gave in and spent a few hours (4) taking it out with about 100lbs of lace rock... I then moved in pool filter sand. I filled it 3/4 of the way back up and waiting to clear to replace the rock...

I got tired of the pool sand making my quite filters so loud they woke me up in another room with the door closed. I will clean the filters out in a few weeks so that I do not lose of my bacteria, but I will post pics of the new setup soon...

Lesson here... play sand not worth the 6 bucks I saved...

i hear that huge mistake on, my part to, i used it , it was a pain, im now using another cheap sand, trying to save money, but it also sucks, so im taking a trip down to that pet place, to get the sand made for aquariums.

I couldn't get the filter sand, so I just got the play sand, I washed 25 lbs of it for about 2 hours and got it nice and clean, i've no problem with it.

that maybe the case... now after I wash the filters out it is fine, but the sand gets kicked up by my 30ish mbuna in the 135, but it is shorter tank... I have moved to pool sand it is much better... cleaner and quieter...
