If you still want sand, go with pool filter sand. It's great stuff

Lol, so much panic for nothing. As I said, it's just bubbles sticking to sand, and for the stuff on top.. it feels grainy because it's just sand sitting on top of the surface tension of the water, poke it and it sinks.

Hey fishnoob... Pay attention to this guy... he or she is correct... I use expensive black sand and wash it first allthe time and this happens EVERY time i add it to a new tank. Don't throw the sand away. Just stick your hand in the tank and squish the bubbles or just let the fish do it when they come up to get food... It will be fine... lol
