Yup. I remember getting into the hobby 17 years ago and there was always talk of the most badass fish. Rhom, wolf fish, atf, etc and it's amusing how these fish all for their reputation somehow can get bullied by something else. Still think a giant rhom is one of the ultimate but seeing how they top out at 17-18in they can't compete with the mega monsters that are 3ft+

Honestly it always comes down to the specimen, that's why those debates are pointless. Cause you can easily take two different specimens and get two different results. Hell I think DB has shown that over the years as well having different specimens of almost everything lol from atf, payara, wolves, dorado etc.
