Hi, well out of all my years of keeping fish i never ran into this problem, anyways my blueline trigger fish along with a grouper, now have white dots alll over there body, mouth, its just everywhere, it looks like a fine powder all over then, my blueine also has puffy, eyes, like i said tihs was all of a sudden, does anyone know what it is??? i know theres diseases out there for saltwater fish but there not ich, sence ich is for fresh water fishes, so can anyone help me?? Or tell me what it is or how to cure it??? and how it happens????

whoa man first off ick happens in fresh and saltwater fish!
and the puffy eyes in the second stage of ick (which is bad) u need to do an emergency water change and test ur water if it came on all of a sudden then somethig got in the tanks water or it has been building and you just havnt noticed it
goodluck!

well i was reading and theres something called velvet also, and unlike ich it attacks the body instead of the fins, anyways how do i rid it??? ive changed the water already.........

copper asap. it's drastic and should only be as last resort but this is one of those time! while treating them soak their food in garlic and lower the salinity.

this might also be velvet. not ich.

also maybe a FW bath every now and them. only for like a minute!

ok thank u, and yeh i belive it is velvet, so i need copper bassed medication then, alright thats what im doing now, hofly all goes well, i seaer i have no freaking idea that they were even getting velvet, it just bammed and hit like a brick wall,

If you don't have any inverts or don't plan to ever have any then Copper is great. I would copper and do a FW dip. I have had luck soaking my fishes food in the past in Garlic Guard. I cured several fish of ick just doing that. Good Luck!
