So I arrived home tonight to be greeted by my lovely other half smiling away.

She is off work this week and decided that she was going fish shopping!!

So she has bought:

1 x Royal Clown Knifefish - (3")

2 x Yellow Labs - (1-2")

2 x Albino tiger oscars - (2").

I am happy with all the fish but the people at the pet store did not tell her how big they grow, what they eat and what tanks are suitable.

So they are at the moment in with danios and mollies and harlequens and a couple of lemon tetras.

All is ok at the moment and fortunately I have a 4ft tank free for them to go in at the moment.

Question time,

Growth rate on the RCK?? Currently 3" and eating flake, daphnia and bloodworm.

Best diets for all??

Will they be ok in a 48" x 18" x 18" for the time being?? Say 6 months??

I have a 6 ft tank but they would be eaten at this size so need to know how quickly they grow!!!

Thanks

Graeme

OMG. I want a fish wife!

Yeah, for a grow out the 75 should be fine for a few months.

Mmm.... I have another oscar in my 6ft tank at the moment but is about 9", it would destroy the babys!!

How quickly will the RCK grow as this seems the most fragile, and the one I like the most!!

I wanted one for a long time but never got one until now lol!!

Turns out it loves prawns aswell. Little chopped pieces. I put a couple in for the oscars as my big one loves them and the RCK was in for some action.

how wide is the 6 foot tank you have? it needs to be at least 18 inches for the rck. it will grow anywhere from 1-3 inches a month and is very suseptible to diesese and the meds for them. hope this helps...

My 6 ft is 6'x2'x2'. So pretty big but have an 8'x2'x2' that I will be setting up soon. Just not needed to yet and in process of decorating!!!

So tank will be another month before set up.
